TFTAK has once again passed the national regular evaluation and is officially recognized as a positively evaluated research and development institution in the field of natural sciences.
This recognition, granted by international experts through a peer-reviewed process coordinated by the Estonian Research Council, confirms that our scientific work meets high international standards in research quality, societal impact, and sustainability.
“This result is a strong validation of our long-standing commitment to scientific excellence in applied research. It shows that our work not only supports innovation in industry but also meets the expectations of the international research community.” Dr. Ranno Nahku, R&D Director in Biotechnology at TFTAK.
Why does this matter?
Access to public research funding – Positive evaluation is a legal requirement in Estonia for applying for national R&D baseline funding and participating in key competitive funding programs.
Commitment to scientific excellence – The evaluation process provides valuable external feedback, helping us continuously improve our research capacity, competence, and strategic direction.
Trust and visibility – Being a recognised research institution strengthens our position in international partnerships and collaborative projects across science and industry.
As a center for applied science and fermentation technologies, this milestone affirms our long-term focus on high-quality research that drives innovation in food, biotech, and health sectors.
We thank all our researchers, partners, and collaborators for contributing to this achievement — and look forward to even deeper impact and cooperation in the years ahead. Let’s keep building the future of science-based innovation — together!
